Description of characteristics

Ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM) is composed of ethylene and propylene, and the main chain does not contain double bonds. Therefore, EPDM has excellent heat resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, low temperature resistance, good insulation and resilience. In addition, it also has good chemical resistance. For example, in many diluted acid, alkali and polar solvents such as alcohol, ketone, ethylene glycol and phosphate ester hydraulic oil and refrigerant R134a + PAG system, the EPDM has excellent heat resistance, ozone resistance and weather resistance Chlorine water and chloramine are effective, but they are not suitable for mineral oil, grease, aromatic and olefin solvents. The disadvantage of ethylene propylene rubber is that the curing speed is slow, it can not co vulcanize with diene rubber, the self viscosity and mutual viscosity are poor, and the air tightness is poor

Service temperature

The standard service temperature of EPDM ranges from - 55 ℃ to 125 ℃, and can be as high as 150 ℃ with organic peroxide vulcanization.

Currently available in black, brown, green, white, brown red, yellow, blue, red, orange, purple and gray. The color can also be specified by the customer.

application

EPDM (O-type rubber sealing ring) is widely used in automobile industry, such as hydraulic fluids based on phosphate ester, brake oil system components based on ethylene glycol, diaphragm, dust-proof rubber sleeve radiator, etc. In the construction industry, it can be used together with asphalt as waterproof material, shock absorption products, door and window sealing strip, etc. In the bathroom system, the rubber parts in contact with water must pass the chloramine resistance and chlorine resistance test. Higher saturated EPDM and higher ethylene content have better corrosion resistance to chloramine and chlorine. It is also commonly used for hot water or steam up to 150 ℃. Ethylene propylene rubber can be used as insulation material and product of transformer, and also can be made into various chemical corrosion resistant products.
